I've wanted a BOSU ever since I first used one while working out at the gym. My trainer showed me how to use it to work my abs since I have some back problems and it became my favorite part of working out. I not only do ab work, but I love being able to stretch out my back and sides. Having one in my house allows me to enjoy using my BOSU every day. It arrived a couple days earlier than expected, it was easy to inflate with the pump provided and an extra plug was provided. I love it!!!!There is SURELY a REASON, Obviously, that the ONLY BRAND you SEE in a Real professional public gym, like a 24 hour fitness, or golds gym, or la fitness, etc. and private gyms, are Bosu balls and why people call them that by name.., cause they invented it.. or at leas they made it a reality, and a THING... what else would you say or call it.. ? "uuuh.., you know when of them there half round flat bottomed exercise ball thingy's that you can stand or sit on ?" lol... no, you say, hey.. I'm gonna go use the BOSU ball.. or that's what we say around my part of the world in Austin, Texas and Seattle, WA. Anyways, nuff said. Bosu=Best . I would say this with Teeter Hangers too. aka Gravity Beds.., cause if you are going to hang yourself upside down suspended inverted.., or balance on something with all your body weight on a hard surface, uh.... why would buy the knock off brand... Sure sometimes aftermarket brands do it cheaper and well, or even better on some things.., but with Bosu... there are no exceptions. The Bosu Balance Trainer is accurately described. It was easy to inflate with my husband’s electric inflater. The dome keeps it shape and is perfect for balance exercises as well as helping me keep a proper posture using weights. There are too many exercises that are used with this trainer to begin to mention individually. This Balance trainer is a wonderful addition to my home gym.The company reached out before there was an issue, due to a tracking information issue. They let me know that they would send me another Bosu if they didn't receive the information by the next day. Bosu arrived and it's great. It's exactly as described and provides a challenging workout. I'd recommend the company and the Bosu.I am a fitness enthusiast. I bought my ball on this web-site over a year ago, and I use it 2-3 times per week on average. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trainer for people middle aged or older to do BALANCE TRAINING. What do I mean by "balance training"? Stand on the ball! Here's my journey. When I first "met" this ball I had not bought it yet. I saw it at the gym, and thought: "what do you do with it?" So I put it in the middle of the floor in the stretching area and stood on it (both feet). I'm reasonably fit, so my reaction was "no problem, what's the big deal?" So then I tried to stand on it with one foot and the light bulb went on! Whoa! This is DIFFICULT! Not only is it difficult I could see right away the benefits of improving the muscular strength and stability of the muscles in the foot and lower leg. Here are the basics: Put the ball round-side-down, and it is a bit easier. Put the ball round-side-up and it is more difficult! Also, if you PUMP the ball up more, it is also slightly more difficult (at the gym I go to there is always one ball somewhat "flat = easier" and one ball "round = harder").So when I first started out, I went all-in: round-side-up. I would try to stand on the ball with one leg only and I found it quite difficult to do 20 seconds at a time. My feet and ankles were wobbling all over the place, and I had to use my arms and the non-standing leg for balance. However, I quickly improved. Within a couple weeks I was up to 30-40 seconds consistently and would occasionally go a whole minute without falling off. I would try to do 2-3 minutes cumulatively on each foot before I switched sides (falling off multiple times during the 2-3 minutes). I made a game of it. I would get FRUSTRATED if I could not last at least a whole minute at least once on each leg during my session.Fast forward 6 months or so and I'm now doing 5 minutes (cumulative) on each side, twice for 10 minutes per leg or 20 minutes total. I'm now (usually) able to do a full 2 minutes consecutively on each side without falling off - or at least I'm very frustrated if I cannot do the 2 minutes at least once on each leg. I have to concentrate very hard to maintain my balance - when I do this at home it helps if I have music on, and I let my mind wander but I (used to) put a dime or a penny on the floor and try to focus on that so I would not get distracted. I CANNOT watch TV while doing my balance training (I can, however, listen to the TV while I stare at the penny on the floor).Fast forward to 12 months and I'm still improving: I'm now able to do 5 minutes on each side (twice each, total of 20 minutes) and I rarely fall off anymore. I'm thinking: "wow, what progress I've made in one year! " My balance has improved so much I'm thinking I'm ready to be the next Great Wallenda (the people who walk on tightropes between buildings - ha ha). So I'm at the gym and I see a young woman pick up the Bosu ball and I have to watch her: She goes over, puts the ball down, does a couple squats on it and I'm thinking: "big deal!" Then she flips it over (round side down) and stands on it with one leg like I do. Then she raises her leg up behind her, grabs it with one of her free hands, and does a yoga pose! My Mind is Blown! So now I have my mission for the next year. I''m working on doing the yoga pose with one leg - MUCH more difficult than just standing on the ball with two free hands and a free leg to balance with. The progression is the same though: at first 20 seconds seemed nearly impossible, now I've progressed to (regularly) doing 60 seconds without falling off. Hopefully by the end of this year I'll be able to do it and hold it for 5 minutes at a time. I love this ball!My physical therapist recommended this to help me recover from a hip injury, and I was shocked by how well it works. I was always vaguely skeptical about this type of exercise "toy," but now I'm a believer. This is the same brand and size used in their offices, so it's obviously sturdy enough for long-term, constant use. I only use it at home 3-4 times/week for about a half hour, and it's just fine for that. The included pump inflated the ball quickly and easily. The only thing I'd say it needed would be a more secure plug for the air hole, since it took a lot of fidgeting to get the plug back in after inflating. I haven't had to re-inflate it yet, but I'll probably need a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out, and then something to pound it back in. Otherwise, it's a great addition to the exercise arsenal. Is the same as what I use at my physical therapist's office (had been concerned what one would get for home use wouldn't be as sturdy but it is). Happy with it - serves its function. The only con is that when I want to move it, I will grab it at either of the sides where it flares out and there's a screw there which could hurt my hand. Because it is heavy it would be nice if the screw had a cap on it or there was a handle of some sort (which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5).UpdateI found that there are "grooves" underneath to be able to grab the device and move it which has made it easy to move. Air has come out of it since I've been using it last 2 weeksBest Bosu trainer there is! I have been using this brand since 2009 for group classes and private training and it has never failed (I am a NASM trainer). Yes, it is pricey BUT you get top quality and durability given that you invest basic care ie keep it clean, away from heat sources etc. basic maintenance really. It is an investment and certainly worth every penny. Whether you are a group/personal trainer, fitness enthusiast, advanced or beginner, Bosu trainer is a must have in your gym.Even though I live in the UK now (lived in the USA for many years) I still have purchased this original Bosu from the States and would never consider getting anything else.Great buy and again - best on the market!!This is a great product. I'd tried one in the gym, but was umming and ahhing about splashing out on a BOSU or going for one of the cheaper ones. I'm really, really glad I picked this and would definitely recommend it. The quality is very high, it's a robust bit of kit (my 4 year old uses it like a trampoline and, while it's probably not recommended, it stands up to the job well). It also comes with lots of exercise ideas which is good if you're short on inspiration. It's also fun just to stand on (weird, I know). It's like being a kid again. Kind of. Anyway, highly recommend.Fortunately I have a compressor so inflating this wasn’t a problem for me. Lovely bit of kit to use for core and overall strength and stability. This has been a favourite piece of mine in gyms for years and I am so chuffed to finally have one I can use at home. Delivery was really fast too. Order 3/3/2022 with expected delivery 13-23/3/2022 but arrived 8:30am today (5/3/2022). So excited to start using it. As others have commented though the flat side is too slippery to use barefoot or in socks (although I may try my grippy yoga socks with it and see if they are any help).Inflating the Bosu Ball with the supplied pump was very quick and easy and the item itself is strong, looks durable and I can't wait to use it! It comes with a set of workouts on a DVD, a poster showing some of the exercises you can do and an owner's manual. I know from previous use, that there are so many strength, cardio, mobility and stability exercises that can be done using the Bosu - I can't wait to get started.Easy to use, good online support on how to use, exercise routines included on website. Download wall chart available. Use it or loose it…simples…
