Description

2011 release from the veteran rockers, their first true Blues album in their 39 year career. Last Train Home retains the hard edge which will please their fans, but their immersion in Blues should gain them new ones as well. One critic even described the album as reminiscent of early Savoy Brown. Angel Air.

Getting home from work today I was surprised to find my Fathers Day gift to myself waiting to find it's way to my cd player. I am listening to FOGHAT's "LAST TRAIN HOME" for the 1st of many times right now. All tracks are strong. "Born For The Road" could have come from the mid 70's! Wanna hear a great blues jam check out "Rollin' & Tumblin/You Need Love". Straight ahead blues closes out the final 2 cuts on the album as 86-year young Eddie "Bluesman" Kirkland plays and sings. There are great liner notes too. These guys were definitely having the time of their lives recording this album. I am a FOGHAT fan from 1973 when I heard "ENERGIZED" for the 1st time in a clothing store in a mall looking for jeans as I headed to my first year of college. Was lucky enough to see the FOG three times during the arena days. However when they regrouped again in the 90's I got to meet my rock & roll heroes. Lonesome Dave, Rod "The Bottle" Price, Tony Stevens and the man on the kit...ROGER EARL!!! Thank you Roger for keeping FOGHAT going and putting out new music and touring. Lonesome Dave and Rod are certainly smiling up in rock and roll heaven as they listen to the album that they most certainly approve and are very proud of. I have seen the new FOGHAT and let me tell you...Charlie Huhn and Bryan Bassett are certainly keeping the FOG going strong. If you love good rocking boogie blues then don't hesitate. Get this CD now. If the FOG gets close to your hometown definitely go to the show. KEEP ON' ROCKIN'!!!
